I’ve won an award for a poem of mine I wrote. :^ It is titled “Be Yourself”

Here it is:

                            Be Yourself

Don’t copy all the others.
Don’t be someone else.
The more you are another,
The more you forget yourself.

People have ideas
That they want you to be,
But you can try to be as
Your heart wants you to be.
And when you know you’re flawless,
Acknowledge this you should:
That you can accomplish
more than you thought you could.

And when yourself you are
That is the truth behind
The you who is a star
And only you can find.

Uhm here’s something I wrote ig

As I sat on the roof with my hair out I looked down at the grass
And thought ‘Oh…How could I sleep with the world in my head?..’
But then you came, Locked eyes with mine
And suddenly the world was gone
I could sleep
I could finally be me around you
You shut the world out and made it just us
But then…I over think
I think to myself ‘They’re just using me’ ‘They don’t care’
But as we lock eyes again and ur hair sways in the wind u smile
Hand in hand and tell me
‘I promise I’ll never let go, Nor forget you…I love you…I truly do’

SIRENS AT SEA
by me :]

Siren of the Sea, hear my plea
Hear my cries and set me free
I long to leave and be in peace
Find and plunder me, I breathe in ecstasy

If you take me, my husk will not be hard to find
Eat my heart and whisper, “Mine, mine, mine”
Please love me in my darkest times
Just promise I’ll be fine

I don’t care if I sink and drown
If it’s you by whom I’m found
In the deep, I can rest sound
Because you are my queen, my glorious crown

I have hoped to be taken away from this pitiful life
As a sailor hoping for a wife, I search for a light
To guide me through my pain and strife
Every touch from you forces me alive

Oh Beloved Siren of the Sea
You’ve heard my plea, you are the Key
To my locked heart, and now I can see
You are the only I truly need

Now I can stri myself of my weight
And feel free and never wait
To go under the surface and meet my fate
For you, my darling, have taken me and my breath away
