I wanna change my name to something else but can’t. Is there a way or no?

It will not let me click the “Username” section.
That took quite a research. Discourse by default locks changing of username after three days from your registration. So that’s a feature of some sort.
But as admin i can still edit your name and able to change it.
So if you want to do that you can text me in pm.

they don’t let people change there own usernames I assume because people can use inappropriate usernames , so instead of changing your own username you ask the mods so They can approve it.

but maybe if u were to do it.
maybe it could be sent to the mods for verfication??
For example: if u were to name urself Ligma_balls1930 it would need to be verficationed by the mods before the name change is present which in this case with the name in the top that it wouldnt be verifed and there wouldnt be a name change

Then how is it different form just asking the mod?
Not only, every post you make is a line of data written in the database, but when you change your username, all lines with your username and with your posts need to be rewritten with your new username. That’s why a username change is limited to 3 days by default, because at that time you do not have thousands of posts.
