Fictional Creature Fight Night! | S1, Ep. 6 | "Let the Feathers Fly"

Well… It’s been a good, long while since the last episode, but… We’re so back! Hello again and welcome back to; or, if you’re new; Welcome to Fictional Creature Fight Night! It’s your lovely host, Dash the Demigod; and this is the show where two pre-selected monsters, creatures or beasts of all shapes, sizes and ferocity; from various works of Media, Duke it out for the Ultimate prize: Survival! Now, I know you all must be practically Foaming at the mouth to see what beasts go to battle next… ..and we’ll get there in due time! But first, let’s see the outcome of the last episode!

In the mountainous forests of the Savage Divide, a Blue devil prowls amongst the pines, looking for its next meal. Maybe the gamey flavors of a nearby Radstag would suit its palate… Or maybe it was more in the mood for a succulent, juicily fresh Brahmin steak. Whatever the case, This beast was on the hunt. That was… Until a new smell peaked its interest. Something it hadn’t smelt before… Fearing that its territory could be threatened by this new beast, the Devil tore off through the woods…

Meanwhile, in a clearing where the Pines and spruces had yet to regrow, Gorgon had succeeded in hunting down a glowing Radstag. Retracting its fangs from the neck of the dual-headed deer, it started to tuck in… But it stopped. Gorgon picked up a scent. Vaguely canine-esqe, coming right at it

Suddenly, our Blue Devil burst from the Trees, and howled, startling a wide arrangement of birds and smaller critters into fleeing. But Gorgon, was unphased, and immediately reared up, brought his front legs down onto the Radstag kill, and roared in challenge at the Blue devil, as the two went tooth to fang. A bite from Gorgon’s Jaws onto the Devil’s leg, a slash from its claws across Gorgon’s back; they went at it for a while, up until Gorgon went for the deciding blow. With all his might, Gorgon leapt onto the back of the Blue Devil, which roared in terror and defiance, as the beast sank its saber-like teeth into the Devil’s throat. As it felt its life force drain, the Blue devil tried to throw its attacker off, but Gorgon’s teeth were lodged too deep into its flesh. As the Blue devil fell to the ground, letting out a small whimper before its eyes closed, Gorgon finally withdrew his fangs from the threat. At last, peace. Gorgon sat down, looking from the fallen Radstag, to the now still body of his attacker, and huffed in relief. Eventually, he would arise to feed from both the Radstag AND the fallen Devil, but for now, he laid his head down to sleep…

And with no more than a light scratch, Gorgon moves on! Perhaps I’ll do a Season in the future where our Losers from past seasons get a second chance? Who knows! Now, onto this Episode’s batch of Fighters!

Challenger 1: Owlbear (Dungeons and Dragons Variant)

This beastie, needs no introductions. With the mass, body and build of a Bear and the head of an Owl, the Owlbear is an animal that embodies Raw power and might. Armed with a Sharp beak, Immaculate night vision and razor-like claws, this animal is one of many that succeeds in keeping a DnD Party up at night, But how well will it hold up to a… well, copybear?

Challenger 2: Owlbear (The Croods Variant)

In the prehistoric world of The Croods, the animals that inhabit this ancient world are weird, wonderful… …and quite scary at times. Among Macawrnivores and Wolf Spiders, there are many animals; be it Herbivores, Carnivores or otherwise; that dwell across the vast, primordial lands that can turn a wrong step into your last in that world; though, not nearly as fast as the Owlbear. With the stature of an Ursid and the almost ear-like tuffs of a Great Horned, the Owlbear is an animal that you’d want to do best to NOT upset. Capable of feats of strength like moving aside large boulders without breaking a sweat, or mights of speed via keeping up with a startled Giraffaphant; this Feline is a Jack-of-All-Trades. But will its generalist nature save its hide from the rage of a DnD Owlbear?

And now, the moment you’ve all been awaiting! Let the Carnage Commence~!

It’s time to let the Feathers Fly! Who would win in a fight to the end between the Owlbears of DnD, and The Croods?
  • Owlbear (Dungeons and Dragons)
  • Owlbear (The Croods)

And that just about wraps things up for Episode 6! Who would you like to see battle it out next time? Perhaps they might appear! Feel free to recommend creatures to participate in the competition next, and I’ll see you later!

Honestly, I love The Croods. Their Owlbear is cool as hell… …

…But DnD sadly likely wins this one
