So im trying to figure out a way to get shaders with Biomes O’ Plenty and many other mods i need for a project im doing for one of my classes
I use Forge 1.21.4 and I refuse to switch back to 1.21.1 (because i already have 24 mods installed for 1.21.4 and it would be a nightmare to download all of them individually for 1.21.1)
Ive done a LOT of research trying to find something that will work with biomes o plenty, but because i use forge, no shaders other than optifine can be used, and other shaders for forge are only available for 1.20 and below (the most recent one i could find was 1.21.1)
I also tried to find a different biomes mod that is like biomes o plenty, but they arz all again, outdated or require a different mod loader
As for the loader, I would honestly recommend switching.
tried and true ATLauncher would fix 90% of the problems you have right now.
Access to Forge and Modrinth, with easy modpack creation and manipulation would make the process way faster.
If Biomes O’ Plenty is updated to 1.21.4 on forge, and all the other mods like Sodium and Iris are on Modrinth, the only modloader that will allow you to use both seamlessly would be ATLauncher.
I think i might factory reset my laptop again to completely start over
I wanna get a whole new laptop but im broke and I can’t persuade my parents to get me a new one
Sodium and Iris stopped updating on forge, and now exclusively update on Modrinth.
Fabric is pretty much the only loader up to date with them.
Starting over with a Fabric loader instead wouldn’t be a bad idea, though.
Modrinth has plenty of mods that rival or even surpass forge mods.
For modern minecraft modding, Modrinth and Fabric are on the forefront.
If you like high framerates and stunning graphics, Fabric is your best bet.
Plus, a good alternative I’ve found for Biomes O’ Plenty is Oh The Biomes We’ve Gone, on Modrinth I think.
Ill try to transfer over to fabric before factory reset but if it makes my laptop run slower then ill just wait till I get home and do the reset ritual
Its not the loader its Minecraft and how much stuff its rendering
My laptop isnt up to date with modern games and it tends to stutter a lot when running and rendering
It even has a lot of trouble with rendering simple graphics in Adobe Illustrator
I begged my parents for a new up to date laptop but they said no bc i asked for one thing that turned into a graduation gift i don’t even want anymore (a mac m2Ultra)
