As for Humans? Well, all a Human would have to do is to eat an Infected fish. Besides; Birds and reptiles would also get infected by eating infected insects, fish or amphibians; and then a mammal would then eat an infected bird or reptile and then get infected with the fungus. It’s a whole cycle. However, most of the Birds; reptiles, and mammals on the island were already eaten by the Arachnids and Frogs that got infected; so therefore there’s not a lot of Passive or netural life on Isla Muerte; most, if not all of it is aggressive.

That’s not true. The flora of the island is mostly untouched. And besides, the Lieutenant knows what animals are immune to the infection, thus being safe to eat; so he’ll be sure to inform your character as to what they can and can’t eat.
